Official White House Proxy Liar Karoline Leavitt took the whaddabout tack, huffing that she was not going to be lectured by Democrats, since Biden supposedly botched the Afghanistan withdrawal. She forgot to mention (and is probably too ignorant to be aware) that it was her current boss who was responsible for that withdrawal — the boss she insists deeply cares about those military personnel that he calls suckers and losers.
Lauren Boebert, in reference to Democrats declining to play along with the fantasy of renaming the Gulf of Mexico, said “I would caution my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to refrain from making fun of the ‘Gulf of America’ because next up, you know it may end up being the ‘District of America’ that we’re working on.” (Does she think that DC is named after Colombia?)
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick (another billionaire, natch) declared that if his mother-in-law (who is 94) didn’t receive her Social Security check, she wouldn’t call and complain; but that the callers are those committing fraud.
President Elon Musk echoed that delusion, claiming that 40 percent of callers to the Social Security help line are fraudsters. He also became the latest Republican individual or organization to crow about the imminent demise of the Department Of Education while misspelling “education”.
Needless to say, Velveeta Voldemort himself offered some stiff competition for the weekly stupid trophy. Addressing a group of Republican women, he said, “We’re gonna have tremendous goodies in the bag for women too. What a dopey bunch of disinformation has been spread by Trump, as Trump’s minions are steering the vessel of our country in every wrong direction.. And the enire shit show is contingent on fooling the public into believing that, anyone who mentions facts, are only unwitting dupes being played by a non-existent Deep State! It seems that many of the super-rich consider themselves God’s chosen people to commandeer the vessel of the State. But they don’t seem to realize that although anyone can hold any opinion they like under the First Amendment, creating lies and conspiracies that have the power to harm those they are aimed at is not what the 1st Amendment is about. If I ordered Trump’s jurors to tell me their addresses, that might immediately open them to attacks from many deranged people who might support Trumpers by sending abusive calls and obscene comments, about the demonization of the Justice Department, being used for political reasons. But when talking to reporters and cameras, while leaving the location of the trials, he has fought for the “right” to reveal personal information about where members of the Jury live. Thus, they become the victims of hate mail and nasty phone calls from those who define hate as a valuable aspect of free speech.
Most of us know that just destroying federal jobs will not lead us to a land of wealth beyond our dreams. But each person that DOGE has spat upon or has fired (for no real reason) will lose in the end. The Federal payroll will diminish, but the people being indiscriminately cut will not be there to give important information and support to the throngs of retirees, the disabled, and with those who cannot afford to feed themselves, after being given no way to survive! This is true about cuts to social security and reductions in the available kinds of support that low-income people cannot afford by themselves!

Trump has been railing about the “deep state” for 8 years now, and claims he lost all of his 60-some court cases because Federal judges (many of whom he appointed) were too afraid of the “deep state” to rule in his favor. Nice rationalization, But Federal judges are not fooled so easily and can receive protection from a cadre of police and security people.
Meanwhile, first graders have not been taught to hate their race, nor are their primary school teachers even knowledgeable about it!–any of it! But each time I ask Trumpers to tell me something about the deep state, they refuse, and keep leaning on the worn-out crutch that defines me as the enemy, seeking to discredit (unproven and undefined) power.
Enough of this!! A free society needs to use history books that record the facts–without being accused of being controlled by the DOJ! For God’s sake! Trump is already dictating what kinds of exhibits should be allowed in the Smithsonian Institute! He’s grabbing people who love democracy way too much and forcing them to withhold their criticisms just to make sure history is not distorted? He wants his photo on certain American bills. He wants to turn Gaza into a playground for the rich, to attack Canada, and to annex Greenland. Doesn’t that say volumes about the size of his ego and the smallness of his heart?
Dems do not want 1st grade teachers to teach kids about Critical Race Theory! And we certainly have never been stupid enough to claim that defunding the police by ending the need for them to answer emergency calls? That kind of thinking is too damned dangerous and stupid to be inflicted on reality. However, Trumpers have been brainwashed into drinking the Kool-Aid they were given without a second thought! Trump convinced them to vote for him by spreading a mountain of untrue accusations about his opponents! And every time, objective evidence revealed all of his lies, Trump deflects and denies the real facts that are important to be aware of!
Trump may not become as ruthless as Hitler, but his autocratic bullying is making that possibility too close for comfort. So, Trumpers–tell us about this Deep State? Is Trump also so afraid of disobeying the Deep State that he fears revealing anything about it at all?
It’s hard to have patience with people who refuse to admit that objective knowledge exists. However, we are all Americans, on the left, and the right, and we are all in this together; Many Trumpers will lose just as much as Democrats, but isn’t this country ours?–(all of ours)?–or have Trump supporters decided it no longer needs to exist? Maybe neither side deserves all the blame, maybe the true villains are the same politicians who regularly employ outrageous lies–(like Alex Jones)?
Many well-meaning people have decided to swallow incredible and ridiculous theories if they serve the purpose of explaining the things they fear. If people want to treat gay people like horrible sinners, perhaps because they look different, and their sexual orientations are hard for straight people to explain away, without leaning on nasty, or incredible falsehoods that justify gay haters, attempts to deny gays and transgenders simple freedoms and lables them bad actors in this very diverse society and culture we live in.
How many Trumpers have been abused by black people, gay people, or transgender people? Maybe a few–in a minor way, but still, it seems that uptight heteros fear those who are so different, even though many Trumpers know little about them.
Most of us are uptight around people who are markedly different in appearance, religion, or cultural values than ourselves. Many gay, lesbian, and transgender people want to join the service to protect their fellow citizens–who, unlike them, are sexually attracted to the opposite sex. But to others, it seems like they are being condemned for accepting new ideas, or else that sexually different others, are just not worthwhile to share their freedoms with. Thus, we all need to rise above the need to see human beings that are genetically different than themselves in some sort of unnecessarily harsh light–after all, they are not “normal,” and thus must be insane.
Overall, most of us can adjust our veiws according to objective facts, but for some who know only a God that punishes and destroys the undefined appearances or the beliefs of others, they must promote the view that a supposedly loving God tests the faith a children by commending their fathers plunge a danger into his heart, or insist that if some of the followers of Moses tried to gather fire wood on the sabath? Those small offenses are so unforgivable by the followers of Moses that the offenders were stoned to death by their neighbors and friends. Fortunately, the message of Jesus is nothing like that, and interestingly, he said he came to fulfill the law, not to destroy it. Yet he died while allowing himself to be tortured to death.
I don’t think that fundamentalists are all bad, but they seem to feel that they have cornered the market of all that is holy and true, so they insist upon creating absurd theories to justify their views of being persecuted by those who want to force “liberal ideas” on them. But no one is forcing anything on anyone! Gays don’t want the rest of us to become gay, nor have psychiatrists found any unique pathological conditions that only they suffer from. Besides, anyone can pray in a public school; they just cannot force others to pray with them. And no one is conspiring against faith by accepting the findings of science concerning a Non-existent pathological condition that gay people were once thought to suffer from!. Yes, they want to form marriages with those of the same sex, but they don’t want to force others to do the same thing. They teach grade schoolers because they like to teach, not because they are secretly trying to make all our children gay. And lo and behold, they do not make their children gay, because their children are often hetero despite having gay parents.
Being biologically different is a victimless crime! And no one needs the 10 commandments hung from classroom walls! You see, children’s parents teach them what to believe and which Holy books their children should study; none of their churches have been closed, and no one is driven to a life of sin, because others don’t exactly share the same spiritual views as them. Yet in essence, many faiths are remarkably similar to other faiths. So why insist that God only shares only his wisdom with one group of people?
In a free democracy, religious faith is not an enemy, nor is faith always blind!. So why do we insist on condemning the faiths of others? Maybe because some faiths make us believe that we have the only faith in town?
