Nancy Mace was confronted by a journalist about her lies to the effect that political violence comes mostly from the left. The journalist presented her with hard statistics showing quite the contrary. She replied in a huff that she knew the facts were false because she personally has experienced some hostility from a few individuals on the Left. You know, as if she were a vile, hateful loon or something.

Megyn Kelly of Fox “News”, was promoting the same lies while engaging in one of those “debates” such as the late Saint Charlie reveled in — in which he set up a forum where he expected to be facing only young, inexperienced and inarticulate opponents, a forum that he controlled and could distort in his favor. But she bit off more than she could chew, also getting confronted by someone who knew the facts. Not to worry, she had a response ready. If you eliminate the crazies, she said, the liberal gunmen outnumber the conservative gunmen. (Sort of like their arguments about elections: eliminate the parts of the country where the most Democratic voters are concentrated, and the country votes overwhelmingly Republican.) B for effort, Megyn, but not quite. If you eliminated the crazies, there wouldn’t be any shooters at all. Come to think of it, there’d be no Fox “News”.

Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) is outraged that Gov. Gavin Newsom referred to Stephen Miller as a fascist. (After all, it’s surely just a wild coincidence that Miller’s toxic, threatening speech at the “memorial service” for Saint Charlie had distinct echoes of Goebbels in it.) He’s so outraged that people would call Republicans fascists that he wants to arrest them for it.

Autism, Tylenol, aceta…ametacete,..apheneta… whatever.

The escalator. Good thing it started working again, or he could have been stranded there for hours. Naturally Republicans are investigating the escalator for making him look bad.

The U.N. speech. Every single syllable of it. Totally padded cell stuff even by his usual standards. And then there are the people who defended it and even exalted it…

Laura Ingraham of the Foxiverse, for instance, hailed it as a brilliant pivotal point in history, and declared that CNN, which had been less enthusiastic about the stellar oration, just didn’t have the gray matter to appreciate his brilliance.

And then there’s the number one shameless self-promoting ass kisser: “All kidding aside did everyone notice despite the lack of a teleprompter, he delivered a clear, reasonable address on US foreign policy? It’s nice to have a president with a brain!” — JD Vance. Well, since the MAGA Cult is redefining everything else, they might as well redefine “reasonable foreign policy” as “your countries are going to hell”.

Oh, and about that brain thing: “Smart people don’t like me.” — DJT
