After 88 years, the Gallup organization has announced that it will no longer be conducting presidential approval polls. This comes right after its approval numbers of the 47th White House Occupant have clocked in at an all-time nadir, and appear to be digging their way even more deeply into that swamp he vowed to drain but instead flooded.

This could be just a wild coincidence. But there have been a great many such “coincidences”, all of which just happen to provide damage control for the W.H.O. And there is no doubt that he is using every tool at his disposal, every dirty trick honed in his long shady career, every agency of the federal government, every dollar of taxpayer money, to seize the PR reins, and turn a negative story into one that sounds positive — at least to people who don’t know any better.

It’s no secret that they have turned the Epstein files into a portrait of a zebra. (Although the administration has been quite willing to publicize the names and information about Epstein’s victims against their will.) When Pam Bondi is confronted about it by Congress, she not only ducks the questions, but responds with a comically infantile personal attack against her questioner in a cringeworthy attempt to deflect.

And even Gym Jordan, in his role as an impartial officiator (wink wink) throws in, at every opportunity, an inept whataboutism aimed at Democrats — such as the false narrative that the Biden administration “targeted parents” by trying to protect school boards from threats of right-wing violence.

And speaking of right-wing violence — well, they don’t. The DOJ has scrubbed from its website the data that had been there for years, reflecting decades of research attesting that right-wing violence is a far greater threat than left-wing violence. Now it’s all gone down the Orwell chute. Official government websites tell you only about the supposed dire threat of left-wing violence. Over and over and over.

The administration is also nixing the World Factbook, which has been a valuable source of information for government agencies for six decades. The CIA has not really given a palpable excuse for pulling the plug on the Factbook, and it’s even difficult to see how such a move directly fits into the MAGA strategy of making its alternate reality the official story. But it’s certainly very much in character for the MAGA cult in general to suppress facts at every opportunity. Don’t be surprised if the administration soon starts publishing a World Alternative Factbook.

After Dear Leader put his own name on the Kennedy Center (above Kennedy’s name, and you surely didn’t see that coming), performers who had been slated to appear at the venue started pulling out at a dizzying pace. It was looking like a real Hindenburg for everybody’s favorite president. So what does he do to cover the gaping holes in the schedule? He suddenly announces that the Center will be closed for two years for… er, um… “renovations”. Let’s just hope he doesn’t “renovate” in the same fashion as he’s doing to the White House.

A similar level of enthusiasm greeted the release of “Melania”, the “documentary” about the First Gold Digger — apparently the movie that the world really, really needed right now — directed by an accused sexual abuser who is featured in the Epstein files. A perfect choice for the project. MAGA cultists flooded the Internet with gushing reviews (many sounding suspiciously similar) of this celluloid yawnfest in an embarrassing effort to override the vomitorious reaction it received from critics.

In the right-wing markets, some cinemas screening it sold out, while elsewhere theaters had a hard time foisting off a single ticket without throwing in a free set of dishes. And in some theaters that supposedly were sold out, most seats were empty. And about those “sold out” houses? Many people who attended did so because they were paid 50 dollars — the deal was even posted on Craigslist.

When Texas Senate candidate James Talarico was interviewed on Stephen Colbert’s already beleaguered talk show, the segment was yanked from the air under pressure from the Nazified FCC, which has also made threats against other programs having left-leaning guests. And you’ve no doubt heard about how a slightly miniatured edition of the MAGA conquest flag has already been planted at CBS. One by one, the bulwarks of honest journalism are being toppled.

The narrative domination has the ultimate goal these days of propping up the unhinged self-aggrandizing fantasies of the toddler-in-chief. That seems to be the main hill that conservatives are willing to die on. As a result, they are all in on the deranged claims that the 2020 election was “stolen”. Thus, the co-conspiratorial FBI seized election records in Georgia.

Even if you never hear another word about this, the raid itself establishes the story line that law(less) enforcement agencies suspect something fishy about the election results. But it’s at least a 50-50 chance that in the days ahead, the FBI will falsely claim that it has indeed found fraud on a grand scale in the Peach State. And it’s an even better bet that these shenanigans won’t stop with Georgia.

Ostensibly, the U.S. has become a dictatorship, with the felon despot getting all his narcissistic demands met. But he has neither the intelligence nor the imagination to actually call the shots. He simply believes, and does, whatever Sean Hannity tells him. In exchange, Fox and the rest of the loony media cartel inflate his boundless ego at every opportunity. It’s a kakistocracy fueled by mutual parasitism.

The MAGA Cult has found its ideal hollow-head figurehead, and they will keep exalting him — and after he’s gone, his successors — as long as it serves their own lust for power and control. It’s going to be a long, long time before the nation ever recovers from the Mad King and his heirs to the throne.
